Evans Willie — Level Up With Evans: They sold my son a property course he couldn't afford
Rating: 1 / 5
My son is in his early twenties and went along to one of the free events because it was pitched as education. He came out having agreed to a payment plan for a property mentorship he had absolutely no way of affording.
The event itself was the classic setup — a couple of hours of inspiration, screenshots of deals, then the room splits off into private conversations about "investing in yourself". He was told the price was only available that day. There was no cooling-off explained to him properly and no real check on whether he could afford it.
When we tried to get the money back we were pointed at terms he'd signed on a phone in a busy room. Some of it eventually got resolved but only after weeks of chasing and getting nowhere.
If you're young and the pitch is "you can't afford not to do this", walk out and think about it for a week. Anything genuinely worth £X thousand will still be there on Monday.
