Adam Stott — Big Business Events Ltd: The free event was a sales room, and I signed up before I could think
I went to a free event expecting a day of business training. It was a sales room.
The morning was stories about people who had made life-changing money. By the afternoon there was a countdown, a limited number of places, and a queue at the back of the room. I was told the price was only available today. When I said I could not afford it, the answer was that there were payment options and that people who take action find the money.
I signed. I regretted it within about 48 hours, once I was away from the room and could actually think. When I asked to cancel, suddenly everyone was slow to reply and the terms were pointed at.
I have no problem paying for good training. I have a problem with a room designed to stop you thinking clearly.
